Travel Plans
Barriers to successful Travel Plan implementation are;
- Low awareness of the benefits of participating in a Travel Plan programme
- Public fears about involvement in road traffic accidents if they walk / cycle
- Fears over personal safety on journeys other than in the car
- Increase in car ownership / use
- Lack of sustainable travel facilities at location
- Poor location accessibility other than by private car; and
- Inadequate facilities for the mobility impaired
